The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening conditions and terminal illnesses. Each wish granted not only provides hope, strength, and joy to both a child and their family, but it can also provide a wish child with the ability and willingness to comply with difficult medical treatments. Additionally, the inspiration gained through these wishes often directly improves a child's physical health.
In 2002, Chi Omega declared this organization as our national philanthropy, and we have been devoted to it ever since. Chi Omega consistently ranks as one of the top supporters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Our sisters nationwide have been able to raise more than 17 million dollars and volunteer nearly 1,000,000 hours for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Here at Gamma, we consider the Make-A-Wish Foundation to be our "why" behind everything we do!
Wings For Wishes
This year, FSU Chi Omega hosted our first annual Chi Omega Wings For Wishes! Wings For Wishes is a night where members from different campus organizations, clubs, sororities, and fraternities come together for dinner at Chi Omega. There are lots of wings, coke floats, and live music!
Even though this was our first year hosting Chi Omega Wings For Wishes, we were able to raise $28,393! All for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We were so happy to be able to support an organization we hold so close to our hearts, and we can't wait to see all that is in store for this event in the years to come!
In 2018, we the Gamma chapter began hosting our annual spring philanthropy, Chi O Creole Cookout. A Mardi Gras themed event with live music, creole style food, beads, and desserts. This spring we were lucky enough to hold on February 19th, at our President's house where family, friends, and alumni were invited to attend a Mardi Gras themed dinner. Proceeds from Chi O Creole go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Thanks to the hard work and dedication from our members we were able to raise over $23,000 this year!
